Presentation
The Workshop for Theses and Dissertations (WTD) of the SVR will select works from doctorate and master's degree in the area of Virtual and Augmented Reality, according to two tracks, as described below:
(1) Theses and Dissertations Contest - completed works. Short articles of up to 5 (five) pages to be published in SBC's Open Digital Library (https://sol.sbc.org.br/index.php/indice).
(2) Theses and Dissertations Workshop - work in progress. Short articles, between 2 (two) and 4 (four) pages that will be published directly in Communications in Informatics journal (CEI-UFPB) (https://periodicos.ufpb.br/index.php/cei).
1. Thesis and Dissertation Contest
Short articles of up to 5 (five) pages may be submitted, summarizing the content of theses and dissertations defended and approved in the period from January 1st, 2022 to August 7th, 2023. The competing theses and dissertations will be evaluated according to the scientific and technological results generated by the work, as well as their potential impact on society and the state of the art in the area of Virtual and Augmented Reality.
First phase
The submitted works will be evaluated in an initial review stage that aims to select the 5 (five) best doctoral theses and the 5 (five) best master dissertations. Each work will be reviewed by at least 3 (three) specialists, who will analyze the material submitted by the authors. The 5 (five) works with the highest averages of the reviewers in each category (Thesis and Dissertation) will be selected for the second phase.
Second phase
Works accepted for the second phase must be presented at SVR, on a date to be defined during the event. The oral presentation by the graduate student, main author and competitor, is mandatory and a grade will be assigned by an evaluation committee to compose the final grade of the award. Authors who do not present their work at CWTD will not compete for the award.
Awards
The 2 (two) best works in each category (Thesis and Dissertation) indicated by the evaluation committee will be awarded, which will consider both the grades of the first phase and the grades of the second phase. The other works that participated in the second phase will receive an honorable mention. The WTD awards will be held according to the event schedule. The presence of competitors in the awards session is mandatory. The competitor absence from the awards session will result in the elimination of their work.

Submissions must be made through the JEMS System in the “SVR2023 WTD” category and each submission must contain 4 (four) files in PDF format:

The text must be formatted using the SBC article template, available at http://tinyurl.com/sbc-template-artigos. In the article, the author must make clear the contributions of the work to the area of Virtual and Augmented Reality. The text must include, obligatorily, the title of the thesis or dissertation, the names of the author, supervisor and eventual co-supervisor(s) with their respective affiliations, abstract (Portuguese and English), characterization of the research problem and motivation, objectives and contributions in relation to the state of the art, research method, results obtained, discussions and conclusions. When necessary, the article may make references to the text of the thesis or dissertation.
- List of by-products directly related to the thesis or dissertation, to be written in Portuguese or English. The list must contain a maximum of 10 by-products (examples: scientific production, such as articles, books or book chapters; patents; dissemination videos; registered programs), using the template for SBC articles, available at http://tinyurl.com/sbc-template-artigos. This list will be used by evaluators to verify the impact of the work under evaluation. It is suggested that in each item the author includes data that contribute to the evaluation, such as: journal/conference impact factor, conference acceptance rate, number of citations, number of people impacted, number of downloads. By-products must be included in the lead author's Lattes curriculum.
