We are pleased to announce that this year the Pre-Symposium of SVR will include a panel on “Potentials and Pathways for Learning & Education in XR”. This panel aims to promote reflections on the use and potential of XR in educational processes and its application at different levels of education. The panel also intends to foster and facilitate collaboration between researchers with similar and/or complementary interests, as well as to stimulate multidisciplinary, creative, and ambitious projects.

The duration of the panel should be 60 minutes. Panelists are expected to attend SVR in person. In exceptional cases, it is possible to have at most one online panelist during the panel.

Submission Process

The submission must contain a 6-page paper (A4 page size) in English – and follow the IEEE format for papers (https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html). All proposals will be reviewed by at least two experts on the topic. Submission should not be blind: the authors must be identified, including their webpage address in the last affiliation line. If accepted, this 6-page paper will be published in conference proceedings by Conference Publishing Services, CPS, and will be submitted to IEEE Xplore.

Authors should submit their contributions directly at https://jems3.sbc.org.br/svr2025-pre-symposium

The 6-page manuscript should contain a survey on XR learning, including, but not limited to:

  • An introduction;
  • A structured presentation of XR learning; and
  • Conclusions indicating trends, applications, and directions for future work;
  • References.

As supplementary material to the 6-page paper, authors must include a PDF file with panel format and motivation/importance/goals of the panel, along with a short biography of the moderator and the panelists in English, including relevant experience in the topic of the panel.

This panel will be a great opportunity for participants to interact, discuss and present their projects and accounts about XR learning to the SVR community.

The accepted proposal will also be invited to submit an extended version as a survey paper on XR learning to a special issue of the Journal of the Brazilian Computer Society (JBCS) after the conference.
