The CERV Outstanding in XR Award 2025 aims to recognize and reward researchers who have contributed to the advancement of knowledge and innovation in the Brazilian community of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and related fields. It has been offered annually by the Special Committee on Virtual Reality (CERV) of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) since 2022.
Researchers awarded in previous editions:
- Cláudio Kirner (UNIFEI, Brazil)
- 2022 – Alberto Raposo (PUC-Rio, Brazil)
- 2023 – Veronica Teichrieb (UFPE, Brazil)
- 2024 – Luciana Nedel (UFRGS, Brazil)
Eligibility:
The award is open to researchers of any nationality who have contributed to the Brazilian XR community.
- Candidates must have contributed significantly to the expansion of knowledge in the area of XR in Brazil;
- Nominations may be submitted by self-nomination or by third parties, by filling out a specific form to be made available to the CERV community, as well as on the website of the Symposium on Virtual and Augmented Reality (SVR);
- To be nominated, the individual must have participated in at least one CERV event (SVR, WRVA);
- Nominations by members of the Selection Committee for the award are prohibited.
